I read somewhere that Osama is the person with the shortest death-to-everyone-making-jokes period.

Why do you think that is, I don't wonder! :-| I was amazed at the turn out in USA! Though you know the old saying, it's always better not to know things and enjoy life, rather than know what to expect. So I guess it's not a joking matter for many, as they do know it's not going away.

Don't know, Lady Diana did pretty well in those stakes.

An example of biting satire from the time...

"As we mark Osama bin Laden's death, what's striking is how much he cost our nation—and how little we've gained from our fight against him. By conservative estimates, bin Laden cost the United States at least $3 trillion over the past 15 years, counting the disruptions he wrought on the domestic economy, the wars and heightened security triggered by the terrorist attacks he engineered, and the direct efforts to hunt him down."

I didn't finish the article. Too depressing to read. Another day perhaps.

The saddest thing of all, is that there is never a end in these kind of troubles, only escalations of terrorism and more deaths. These people are not looking for peace at all, but eventual victory.

There are probably more terrorists recruited, than the offical armed forces can recruit and they have sympathisers at every level too through immigration and refugee policies.

Nak i'm not suggesting anything matey, other than I believe it's been a very costly affair emotionally as well as financially for many. and it's far from over. Especially with Libya on the go too, to say that these guys are not getting support from major countries, is an ongoing discussion that will have to come to a head, sooner or later, the future isn't looking too rosy at all :-|

Nobody said it was over. People obviously are aware of people who'd want to get even hence the raised alert statuses. Sad thing is, extremists are bloodthirsty and wouldn't appeal to any sort of reason.

They didn't release a picture of his body as far as I'm aware, Obama explained the reasons for it
