Why dating sites for SG don't work for Indians? :)

Hi,

I am an Indian Expat precisely from Delhi, in my late 20's.. Off late I have seen, learnt and experienced that some of the dating, casual encounters and romancing forums/websites do not pay much heed to what Indians are posting. HA HA HA. I just wanted to know the reason behind this since I am new to Singapore Expat Forums too and I signed in to know the response from the expats, be it Indians, Chinese or Westerners.

Just a true feedback and an honest response on how people generalize Indian behavior with a few rotten tomatoes that they happen to meet in past...

Maybe because most Indian nationals are full of themselves and think they are dog's gift to the world. Or maybe because most think they are natural born marketing geniuses but usually end up with over-inflated egos and little substance when it come to the crunch? I don't know. Just havin' a go......

Hygiene could be one possible reason, a lot of your countrymen don't do your reputation any favours in that department

I think SMS is right on the arrogance thing... 'it's all about me'. Sure way to turn the chicks off.

Get outside of India (like in SG) and most educated women have been exposed to different, less stilted, and more symbiotic cultures.

Follow a knob on a WP, or a mat sal/ang mo on $20k a month who knows how to adore a woman for who she is.

Obvious really innit?

I'm confused - I don't understand what your problem is. Do you feel that on the internet dating sites that people ignore you because you're Indian? and is this just your experience or others too? How do you know that other races have more success?

Can you also "define" ignore? I assume that you cut and paste a letter and send it to as many women as possible and the issue is there is no response. Guess what - it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT YOU'RE INDIAN. What you're doing is nothing more than SPAM and you're better off reading some of the wisdom on the web on internet dating (like "don't spam" and "refer to something in the persons profile, something that you have in common") than bemoaning your fate on this forum.

From my years spent overseas, my 2 cents say, 99.9% of the smart girls know that indians in date sites are out for free sex, fun, and everything, with ZERO intention of anything permanent / steady ..

And that the guys, despite all their swearing and huffing and puffing, will only marry the girl his mama chooses ..

(and that also includes fellow Indian Girls, who avoid the countrymen for the same reason .. unless, they are 'same class', 'horoscope matched' et al .. )

And that, plus that thing of 'full of themselves .. ' (ooops .. that wasnt' supposed to offend anybody .. )

And the list of girls who avoid "indian" dates include girls in pick up bars as well

I said, 'Thanks, Jane, that's the greatest thing I've heard all day.
Let's go!'

We went to lunch. But we didn't go where we normally would go.
She chose instead at a quiet bistro with a private table.
We had two martinis each and I enjoyed the meal tremendously.

On the way back to the office, Jane said, 'You know, It's such a
beautiful day...
We don't need to go straight back to the office, Do We?'

I responded, 'I guess not.
What do you have in mind?'
She said, 'Let's drop by my apartment, it's just around the corner.'

After arriving at her apartment, Jane turned to me and said,
'Boss, if you don't mind, I'm going to step into the bedroom for just
a moment.
I'll be right back.' 'Ok.' I nervously replied.

She went into the bedroom and, after a couple of minutes, she came out
carrying a huge birthday cake ...
Followed by my wife, my kids, and dozens of my friends and
co-workers, all singing 'Happy Birthday'.

And I just sat there....

On the sofa....
