Looking for friends and/or Dive buddy

I just moved here about a month ago. 28/F from NYC. I'm looking for two things: friends for eating and drinks/hanging out with/basic sassy banter and convo.

And I am also testing the waters to see if there's another experienced diver out there looking for a buddy. It's a big reason why I headed out here. I'm a divemaster so I prefer another person who is pretty experienced, or at least has good buoyance/bottom time (I've met those people who just got their OW and are like that so it happens ). Recs on good dive outfits are also appreciated!

Nothing too hardcore for a DM. Beautiful unspoilt island. Some seasoned SG divers drive up there (Mersing) every weekend in season. I prefer the flight from Seletar.

Phuket. Find a shop and dive between the east coast and Krabi.... around Koh Phi phi... very nice!

Previous poster mentions the Black/White Manta liveaboards. Interesting, as they stopped running locally for a few years, but now White Manta is back doing the Tioman w/e route. Ideal for a lazy w/e away... but the $ is pretty big!

Hey lingling, I can be reached at flexiblehorsewalrus at gmail and happy to meet up first to see how diving potential can evolve!

Yeah I went to Tioman, not the biggest fan, but I only did a couple dives there. Maybe looking to do a bit in Indonesia. I actually did one dive here in Singapore for work (sort of) coral spawing... viz was pretty bad and people were crowded over a few baumies. My dive instructor moved back to Phuket, will eventually go out there. Friend is moving back to Manila and am really heavily thinking of doing some damage in the Philippines. Also thinking of meeting up with a friend in Korea where he's gonna do some octopus hunting but for now maybe just exploring proximal Malaysia sites are best for me.... almost all my diving has been in Africa (Indian Ocean) so I can't really offer any advice here on other sites.
