Thinking of removing my implants..

Post by Pandemonium » Fri, 15 Apr 2011 12:44 pm

Hi guys..
I had my brow bone implant, lip reduction on 7th April, rhino and alar on 9th April, all by Dr Chi.

It has been a week and my face is still quite swollen and I totally DON'T look like myself at all!
My expression and everything, it is totally different, I just look like an alien. I look uglier than before!

I was thinking of taking out my implants..
Will I look the same as before when I take my implants out?
Where can I go to to have my implants removed? Cheapest hospital please, the surgery already cost me a bomb..
Really depress and sad!

Kind souls please enlighten me !! :(
Life is a misery.

Recovery period is calculated in terms of weeks and months not days. Besides you did so many procedures at once.
Don't keep looking at the mirror, take your mind off and concentrate on other things. Re-evaluate at 1 month.

of course yo're still swollen, it's only been one week.

I am one MONTH out of my cheek/tear trough surgery and I'm still visibly swollen. If you take out your implants now then it's a 100% fact that you made a huge mistake by pouring so much money into surgery. Give it a few months and wait to see how the result goes before deciding so you don't immediately qualify your surgery as a fail.

Too many people are going into surgery with not enough mental preparation and knowledge on the recovering process and then they become super shocked when they don't see a result that they like within one week of the surgery.

hear hear! ppl are skimping over the vast amt of post-op info in this thread, and heading straight for the cheap prices and ops menu...

just do a quick google, every site will show u the same swollen-headed post-op photos, u r on the right (but slow) track!
Next: Forehead augmentation, botox, RF

Its too early to tell if your implants are right for you. In fact, your face is now highly swollen and bruised. You are just one week post-op! And you did so many operations at one go.

I did fat injections to my tear trough and loveband just one week ago, and I still have slight bruising to my lower eyelid, though its not obvious. However, I feel that my looks can improve quite abit. But im not too worried because im going to hatyai soon to do botox, so waiting for that as well.

I think that you should wait approximately 6 months at the minimum when there is little residual swelling to make the judgement call.

You had a bicoronal incision. don't you think its a waste of money, time, energy AND there's a huge scar now - by removing the implant?

Think twice and don't act rashly.

Anw, the results will be similar no matter you go to Korea or Taiwan. At one week, you are experiencing acute swelling and it is expected. When I did my nose at first, my nose also looked pretty awful. No worries. You should take a look at rhinoplasty recovery photos. But bear in mind that you did more surgery, especially the lip reduction. Lips are highly vascular and chances are that your face is now highly vasodilatated.

Thanks guys for the advices.
But what concerns me is that what if I still decided to take out my brow bone implant after a time frame of 3months? My skin will sag if the implants were to be taken out right?
So it is wise to take it out now or after 3months?

Thanks again for helping!

Hey darling how old are you? If you are below 30, chances are that it will be ok, don't worry :)

Do you have any pictures of yourself?

I think the nose will turn out ok, trust me :)

Maybe its the browbone.

Thats why I don't advise pple to do multiple surgeries at one go. Because, if it doesnt look good, you dont know if its the browbone making you look bad, or its the nose , or is it the lip reduction.

Just an advice for future people doing surgery :)

I'm below 30.
I am definitely going to take out my brow bone implant, it changes my entire look totally. My eyes expression is totally different.

I'm just afraid I won't look like the same anymore even after taking out the implants..

I had the implants in my face for 10days, can I still look like before the surgery?

if you need a consult amongst experienced PS buffs, why don't we do a meet up. i don't mind hosting at my place. What you need is a good second or third opinions from real supportive and experienced people like boil18 and arrdvark. Don't feel depressed and make a rash move like the young girl recently who removed her chin implant after like 4 days or something! we can provide our expert aesthetic judgement and then , armed with this information, you can make your own decision.

going to see a PS surgeon in SIngapore will usually cause you more grief as they will say all sorts of negative thing about Thailand etc...

you are post 10 days.... you need more time to ascertain final results....

if you need support, we are here.

you will look 95% the same after removal..

there may be a fibrous capsule formed around the brow implant.
so your brow area will be a little bigger.

this fibrous encapsulation is probably 1-2 mm thick.

if you want to look 99% the same, you should remove the implant before 1 month, so that the fibrous capsule doesnt form.

even then, the new internal scar tissue means your forehead has changed a little, maybe 1mm.

but consult a PS whether this is feasible.

Hi boii, thank you for the advice.
I've visited dr Yeap from mt Elizabeth and he told me I am still swelling.
I told him what if I want to remove it immediately, he told me he can't cause he doesn't know how dr chi place and secure the brow bone implant.
Then I prompt him about my nose implant, he say that is easy, but still resist cause infection will arise.
I know he might be just playing safe but I could say he is just another kia si doctor.
He look down on HatYai docs, but say Bangkok still okok. -_-
Made a wasted trip that cost me $350++!
He gave me sineech and some cream to apply on my lips.

Will be going down NUH this wednesday to hear what the surgeon there got to say..

Anyway, if I remove my implants before a month time, how long do I need to take to recover and look like the past?

Thanks again!

HI Pandemonium,

This is ANNAKILLY's feedback on Dr. Yeap from awhile back.

Hi guys,
If you guys had followed the forum, you would know that I have previously had 2 nose jobs. Once in Mount Elizabeth Hospital with Dr Yeap and the second rhinoplasty with Dr. Pat from Tokai.

I decided to go to Dr Chiyarut for my 2nd revision rhinoplasty and Forehead augmentation. Below I will list the details of all my surgeries and hopefully you will be able to gain from my experience.

1st Rhinoplasty 2006: Dr Yeap Mount Elizabeth Hospital Singapore
The 1st rhinoplasty by Dr Yeap in Mount Elizabeth was performed quite badly in my opinion. The nose he gave me was very straight from the bridge to the tip, there was no curve at all making it look very unnatural. The nose bridge was way too high and because he just gave me a simple augmentation using an L shaped silicone, it made my tip look really bulbous. I paid close to 3k for this operation and its really not worth the money.
