Singapore Expats

Can I realistically do this in a week...?

That's funny - the lady at KBC (who initiated the transfer - god only knows why it went through stanchart) said they'd never lost any money like this before, and that she had no idea how long it would take to resolve.

Did you get your money back in the end? How long does it take to resolve? I really don't want to be without this cash for a long time...

If it is a banking error surely they are duty-bound to make you good, and then they can resolve their error/s at their leisure?

It happened around mid April and they sorted it within a week.

HSBC, Citibank, Stan Chart, Maybank, SBI, and ANZ all share ATM's.

You'd have thought that was good (and it was once upon a time).

But as prev. discussed seemingly half of the Citi ATMs no longer work on this 'ATM5' network.

...and how many other of the bank's ATMs do you see on a regular basis?

Unfortunately the banks won't just "make me good" until they find the money. The bank that has sent the money has legitimately sent it, so they don't think they owe me anything, and the one that's supposed to have received it can't see any inbound cash, so they won't credit me anything. None of them seem able to talk to one another (they're firing Swift messages with next to no information in to one another) and it's all got rather silly.

My company was about to re-send the payment until I begged them to stop and issue me a cheque! Ridiculous!
