It definitely appears so, but then were do have other regulars here on the board that go a long way towards offsetting this type. I do find it funny as he still thinks we should have been able to see that his initial figures were wrong. Especially considering the average HOUSEHOLD income in Singapore is only around 5.5K/mo. With that in mind, without knowing his lifestyle it would be virtually impossible to hazard an accurate guess. I reckon he should probably stay on the other board where he can apparently type accurately and give more information.

As far as BillyB's initial response is concerned, had the OP done enough "research" on this board, he would already have known that he needs to give us data to work with and if none is forthcoming, what our responses will be for wasting our time which is taken from our already busy working day.

Yep agree with SMS

And for the record I didn't intend my original observation with any kind of malice. It is just that this situation has repeated itself so many times recently that I think the question is merited, as it seems beyond coincidence to me. Consider that I'm just trying to understand cultural approaches... :???:

Yes, it is my mistake................Sorry.
I am really panic to get out from my current location as it is affecting my kids education.
Whole day I am sitting infront of computer, talking to various people, posting in different forums as I don't want to make mistake again as I have done previously and regretting now.

Anyway it is my life.... sorry for any inconvenience caused....not intentioanlly....
I think you'll find for most of us on here, our barks are far worse than our bites. I've only used this forum for a short space of time but the amount of repetition is frustrating, and I know people don't actually do it on purpose, it's really a question of thinking a little for oneself. For some of the moderators and regulars, it must be extremely frustrating. Maybe we can take things a little far with our warped sarcasm and harsh replies but personally I think that's why this forum is so popular and effective.

I for one, like many on here, like to help others out and share my experiences - often irrelevant and sometimes opinionated, I'll be the first to admit that - but the last thing that we want to see is someone making a big commitment and basing such a decision off incorrect information. We could handle things in a more diplomatic way, but that would be quite boring wouldn't it!!

Thing is BB this is not some freebie information bureau and that should be respected. Remember it wasn't so long ago there was a poster saying (in as many words) 'I am not bloody well interested in people telling me to use the bloody Search function. That is not the bloody answer that I want'.

Did you insert the two 'the's' (ignore punctuation, literacy was never my strong point) used in the quote to be diplomatic?!

I get you, but as they say....when in rome.......

sorry... typo error.. offered salary is 17500... not 7500.

Nath, I am not upset.... I admit that my data was wrong....Was in a hurry to send the message. Even if the data was wrong, I was little bit suprised(not worried...) with Bill's reply. Is this the way we give some information to a new person ?... He could have given some indication(like,....7500 is not enough....or will be tight)... in a decent way(if he knows singapore).... Anyway thanks Nath.
Feeling very underpaid after I read this thread

Atleast I have better decision making ability! (But also realise that this is not something a collectivist culture appreciates/ values!) *Sigh*

Salary just depends on demand and supply for a particular skill. The OP clearly is an IT developer joining an Investment Bank on their payrolls.

You can be a total dumbo in real life and yet be a brilliant IT programmer.

I forgot to use the /sarcasm tag. I would also like to propose the usage of a /snark tag. :P

Why would left-handed people squeel?

Because they are exploiters. Everything, their entire raison is predicated upon taking other peoples money.
