I think if you take cab from your home and enter to SG via Woodlands will be cheaper. BTW There are buses operating from Gelang Patah to Tuas This will be much cheaper for you.
BTW the LTA application to drive Malaysian car needs alot of proof. Just be prepared to show it to them

Hehe - really it's not so much about myself.. I am fine to even jog to Singapore. It's about my dad - It's inconvenient and not able to respond to any urgent cases quickly.
I am totally fine and happy to show any proof.. Cos I don't plan to abuse the right to drive. And I truly not reside in Singapore, no point really to get SIngapore car...
The approval definitely won't contribute to congestion considering that I might come in only once in a month time for few hours..? I truly wish to have approval.. But then again.. it's hard to get through for sure..

I used to own Malaysia and SG car at one stage due to my work in Malaysia were far more compare to work in Singapore.
Your issue is not a major if you know how to circumvent the problem.
You definitely need a Malaysia car even if you do not want to enter SG. Talk to the taxi driver Galeri Seni Multi Storey carpark infront of City Square where all the SG/JB taxi drivers are located. Get their names in case of emergency, they can pick you or your dad anywhere in JB or SG if the needs arises. I did that for a few years save me heaps of VEP and trouble in getting approval with LTA.

Hi guys - I am in the midst of applying for approval - LTA verified that my statement is true that I rarely stay in Singapore:)
Cheers!
