Anyone know good ways to get cheap flights?

Post by beajolley » Mon, 04 Apr 2011 12:34 pm

Hi all,
Arrived in Singapore a month ago from Canada and looking into ways to bring my boyfriend over from Canada to visit me on my holidays. Does anyone have any good tips on cheap airline bookings? Maybe good websites that they have found good deals, or good places to find sales? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

Airline websites themselves almost always provide the best prices.

www.hipmunk.com and www.zuji.com.sg may be of some use.

Depending from where in Canada, EVA Air and United will have the cheapest rates.

If you are from Canada, buying a ticket out of Canada is the cheapest, as, using certain procedures, airlines increase the price for 'reverse purchase' and out of the country offers are the cheapest ..

SQ - buying from Singapore, YYZ - SIN would be expensive than buying the same ex-YYZ - or through an agent there.

Unless of course, your BF can't afford to buy the ticket :D

Two search engines that I have used recently. They search other airfare websites and consolidate the results, so have a pretty broad reach across the market.

www.skyscanner.com
www.momomdo.com

Both delightfully flexible/simple interfaces too.

Wow, thanks everyone! I will check all of those options out and let him know to look into what the difference would be for him to book it from there.
