Multiple Property Agents for Renter?

Post by rachaele » Mon, 04 Apr 2011 8:17 am

Is it common to use multiple property agents to find an apartment in Singapore?

If, so do you need to keep each a secrete from the other?

Thanks.

Every agent will try to make himself/herself as 'exclusive', as if you are going to bring in a million $ deal, and then they cross sell.

Well, property agents / property listing is a open as the yellow pages, for those in the trade, and you got to be raving mad to fall for the agents ruse of telling you that legally you should not have more than one agent

As a buyer - you should put your foot down, and well, as much as I say that you shouldn't depend on one agent, you should also muddy the water engaging too many agents ..

PS: if you are trying to rent a 100,000 $ PM property, can I be your exclusive agent ?? :)

We're just trying to find a place to rent. We just moved here.

We have two agents and I feel like I'm cheating on a spouse trying to juggle times and properties between the two of them.

Yeah, but don't it feel good!

It's better you shaft them, then them shafting you (which is what usually happens).

+1

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. If they ask you tell them. I used about 4 when I was looking and was open and honest with all of them. May the best man, or woman for that matter, win!!
