HELP

Hi, My name is Suzanne. I have alil bit of a complicated situation here.. :( I resigned from my job last Feb (S Pass holder) and found a new employer just recently ( applying for E Pass). I've been waiting for my new pass for a week now. I've called my new co to follow up on it and the HR told me that they've applied for it and just waiting for the reply from MOM. I've been constantly checking the application online but still the status of my pass is still from my previous co which is "Cancelled". I've been patiently waiting but I just can't be confident that they really have applied for my pass. :( I don't want to call the Co. again and again, the HR might get pissed at me for always making a follow up.. :( Right now I'm still continuing looking for a job hoping for more interviews.

Secondly, last night I went to JB Malaysia to exit and came back after 2hrs. And yes, we were being held back at the ICA office and I was being asked a few questions. I was already thinking that the officer will only give me few days until my return flight date. To my surprise the officer chopped my passport for 30days and had a note on top "TL vessel number and return date tix" and now I am confused if I can still stay here in SG for another 30 days or do I really have to go back to the Philippines on my return flight date? The officer didn't tell me or pointed out to really leave SG on my return flight.

I hope you guys can help me with this. Honestly I'm worried, I don't want to break any SG laws.

It is 'pissed off' - present tense / past tense .. :)

Back to the subject matter, well, as I mentioned before, sometimes the status doesn't get updated and the last status change to the pass is what stays ..

Somewhere in his system it shows there is an application pending and hence the 30 days, and then again, he probably scribbled "NFE" on the passport hoping that you will not need extension ..

The other remark on the TL - is a reference to the flight ticket, so you don't keep bringing dummy tickets as some do, and use that ruse ..
I hope you guys can help me with this. Honestly I'm worried, I don't want to break any SG laws.
My 2 cents would be, don't leave Singapore if the pass processing takes long time .. just go to MOM, and the duty officer can extend it for you ..

And forget about going home until the pass gets in or something happens .. it is safer to beg the MOM to extend your visa ..

PS: My painful episodes was more than 7 years ago .. and unless the process changed, the MOM officer can / may extend the visa for you .. and he/she can also find out that the application is pending ..

Normal processing can take upto 3 weeks or more, especially nowadays, and for a start, I would suggest you stop listening to scare-mongers and panic yourself to death ..

Cheers

It is 'pissed off' - present tense / past tense .. --- haha!lol sorry typo error..tnx for the keen eye though..

Ok i'll take your proposition... tnx!

i'll just probably call MOM to verify if the company really had applied for my pass to make me feel at ease. :)

:D :D yes chief, boss, err .. sir, your highness ?? :D D:

Got it .. loud and clear ..

PS: I am always fascinated by those who make mistakes in the tense, compared to typo/spelling mistakes .. .. For me - typos/spelling mistakes could be forgiven, but messing up the tense ? Nah ..

As I said, unless you had an application pending, the ICA guy wouldn't have chopped 30 days - they also have stamps for 7 days, 14 days and also, in exceptional cases, are known to have stamped 'permitted to enter and stay for 3 days" :)

I was there and was put through the same mill for no less than 4 months plus: extension/appeal, extension/appeal.. and as long as the appeal was pending, MOM granted an extension and when I got caught in the checkpoint after going to Malaysia, the officer tapped some keys and waited for a few minutes staring at his screen before stamping 30 days for me ..

Cheers and do relax .. and "DONT SCARE YOURSELF TO DEATH" (though a Hongkong writer would dispute that, saying, so far, nobody has been known to laugh themselves to death or scare themselves to death ..

And especially since you mentioned your nationality, I would suggest that you stop feeding yourself horror stories from some other forums, where rumours and horrors rule the board .. :D :D
