I would like to start a thread sharing what are the cool things cool people could do in Singapore besides the usual shopping, clubbing, drinking events...
I will start with this one -
French movie @ Alliance Francaise every Tuesday

Please share if you know any. Let's help out each other to have a fun stay in Singapore!

Another one is:
Joining the 3K, 5K or 7K runs every Tuesday and Thursday in I-Run @ River Promenade and run with the Fatbird runners. It's at Singapore River Promenade (below UOB Plaza, next to Fat Bird statue). Starts 6:30pm. Isotonic drinks provided.

I go to a lot of music and art events. They tend to be low cost, and I get to mix with a lot of likeminded folks, which almost never happens on a 'typical' night out :p
I'm addicted to Javier's in Cineliesure too, and usually end up sharing the $8.90 salad plate with a friend.
Some events-
MAAD Marketplace for Artists and Designers
Every first Saturday of the month at Red Dot Museum
Art Salon at Echo Loft
Run by a choreographer at Resorts World once a month, and is pretty much a mingler for artists of every type...visual, performance, musical...
Pigeonhole on Duxton Road
They organize events like a pecha kucha, open mics, music camps. and is just generally a nice place to chill.

Hash House Harriers (HHH)... Are you into running? Were you a cross country nut in secondary school or high school as we call it in the States. Do youi miss the comraderie. HHH is a worldwide organization of drinkers with a running problem. There is a Hash every night of the week here in SG. You make inta friends and even friends for life. Drop me a line of you want to know more.
LD_Runner
Although sounding illegal, hashing has nothing to do with any kind of drug or illegal activity.
J.A.N. Just Another Noobie. Hoping to make some friends and branch out from the regular 9 to 5 crowd at work. Cheers!

Actually theres also another place in sommerset called swing perfection where its an indoor place and you can play simulated golf as well as watch your swings on video. It was pretty good although alittle pricey if you go by yourself. Good for the kids and beginners - as you dont lose any golf balls!!!!

For those with kids, the marina barrage is very nice. People do a lot of kite flying there as well. Note, you need a car or taxi to get there.

Night markets are called "Pasar malam" in Singapore. There isn't a fixed location though, they usually move around and most of them wouldn't stay at the same place for more than two weeks. I'll post here if I see any.
