In hindsight and my bad in posting earlier comments, I should have make this short and sharp. This incident has happen to my close family friend. For those parents that has received EP approval till 21 pending renunciation. I would like to share this with you what we have encounter and not make the same mistake. Please read
Anyway not to reveal too much detail, he informed CMPB that his son has change the course of studies from college to University. Wanting to stick by the book and not flouting the law, he informed CMPB of the change of course months back until everything turn to custard and he has nowhere to go to other than me. His son has approved EP to stay overseas until 21 pending renounciation. What he did not realise is on the EP till 21 approval doc states " he cannot change his course of study or place of study without prior approval. If he does that, he is in violation of the EP and has to return back to serve NS. This is very puzzling itself as he has been approved of EP till 21. So CMPB replied by stating the his son is in violation and has to return to serve NS. Anyway I managed to sort it for them eventually with a little persuasion and reasoning.
So for those NS parents whose child has gotten NS EP till 21 pending renunciation please do not tell CMPB change of course of study or place of study. If you do not inform CMPB they would not know. Just keep it low and do not rock the boat as what my friend did. It has nothing to do with flouting the law which we are not but you have to prove it otherwise which can be a real pain dealing with agencies

MS, this is always home. You should know that. Glad you were successful this trip and without undue harassment. We had wondered where you got yourself off to. Was worried you let some silliness drive you away.

After what I have gone through before probably most of you ,including my wife, will think I am a stubborn guy and NUTS but hey you never try you never know..... at least I die trying.
I returned to help to sort out one of our close friend NS problem AGAIN......coz this will be my second time after 5 years.
Anyway not to reveal too much detail, he informed CMPB that his son has change the course of studies from college to University. Anyway I managed to sort it for them eventually with a little persuasion and reasoning.
I was worried though should I use SG PP or OZ PP or Indonesian PP to enter SG. I decided with OZ PP. Worried like hell at the immigration control.I went through without any fuss nor a blink of the ICA officer.
At the same time here, went to CPF building to withdraw some monies 40% of CPF, settle all the things that I needed to do which I could not do before.
So for those NS parents whose child has gotten NS EP till 21 pending renunciation please do not tell CMPB change of course of study or place of study. If you do not tell they would not know. Just keep it low and do not rock the boat as what my friend did. He owe me big time of course.
I am sorry I cannot catch up with anyone of you as I was so lost in Singapore. So much changes in Singapore , I hardly recognise the landscape. I even lost myself in Carrefour looking for my parked car.
The KPE expressway has cameras and you cannot even drive more than 70 km/hr. The Marina Casino looks odd looking from the Esplanade. remind me of Noah's Ark .But one thing never change. The mentality of SGer drivers "memememe first" Really piss me off big time.
Too many friends to see, too short a time. Moreover I am a bit nervous due to my situation before but hey all is good. I am in Changi Airport now and going to Christchurch to see some of my mates there. Take care and god bless
Were you a politician or a high flying personality in Singapore before you decided to leave....
Just wondering since you must have had some high profile contacts to help your friend out of this one.

Probably the best description would be "well connected".

Is that like when someone says "I have friends in high places" you reply "Well, I have friends in LOW places"?

Is that how Mr. MS manages to retain so many PPT's...... or has the renewal not come up on the SG PPT?

For your que Faelle, I renewed my SG PP without any hassle and even declared I have citizenship in other countries on the declaration form this week. I am one of the blessed few. Please do not try this on yourself at home
I am replying to you guys now in the air (business class) by Emirates. Damn !! it feels so good.
@SMS ; I do not take much notice of the goon. My mind was wondering off a bit when this thing popped up. I noticed he still took issues on some matters with you.
@naks ; I do have some "friends" if you have some unsettled debt with anyone

Just wondering what you feel, as a general policy the Singapore govt probably frowns on renewal of SG ppt if u obtained another one.
But do you think they as an unwritten rule evaluate the net worth of the individual (not just in terms of mOnetary worth) and estimate how valuable annasset he is to the nation... And then consider whether to renew / retain his citizenship or nOT?
Or is yours just a unique case... Have heard on this forum of similar stuff but take it with a pinch of salt.

Thanks Buddy. I will indeed have a pint or two although I have been sober for sometime now, dunno if I can compete with you guys.
@Faelle.........let's not go there OK as this is a public forum. No , it has nothing to do with a lot of dough and btw I am not well off either. I used to live in a HDB apartment like everyone else. Nothing fancy.
I take this cue on passing border control from Taxico. Never tried it before passing thru Immigration with foreign ones and somehow it works. This mean I have no criminal nor outstanding matters with the Gahmen.
If you could remove my earlier posting on your earlier post will be better for everyone looking for advise
I edit this

Oooooh....it's so cloak and dagger.
It's like a Robert ludlum novel.
