Libya air strikes

Interesting. US, UK and France have conducted air strikes on Libya. Russia and China are opposing it.

In Bahrain, when there was a rebellion, Saudi and UAE sent troops to help the government there.

Democracy v/s dictatorship?

We are living in interesting times. Wonder how the stock markets are going to open tomorrow. :?

Syria just kicked off! Yemen is fighting too! The problem is that these old dictatorships are all ripe for the taking, they are too old, and in need of replacement. Saudi and UAE do not wish to see new dictators that are more radicle, as they would eventually destabilise, all these actions are planned, though democracy and equality is far from the reach of the people in these Muslim states, they will be either more radicle or more western, that's the only choice available as i see it and both grps are out there tussling over the power.

Nothing to do with "Democracy v/s dictatorship?", it never really is.

Not sure why China is opposing anything apart from taking an opposite stance due to lack of involvement in any international effort here.

Russia is against it officially but deep down inside they're hoping that a desperate despot will sabotage the oil infrastructure out of desperation and acknowledgement that he will be ousted from power. If oil prices go up, the Russians will be cheering.

Good to see that the US, UK and France are working together on this. Funny to see the media spreading gossip about everyone doing their own thing, not communicating with each other on each country's actions, etc. Just tells you how meaningless it is to listen to journalists sometimes...

Interesting statements, having in mind, that we are living in SINGAPORE :???:
is this the way, to comment things far away and ignoring?
Aha, i am still learning this
And for the records: i lOVE Singapore! :D
The same discussions i have with colleagues from China or Belarus:
"What kind of political system you have in mind?"
My recommendation: If you do not live there, do not disturb.
Why the only "real" political way is democracy?
Just: if you have oil, it`s ok to do sth else.
Up to the moment, we start not to like you anymore.
if you are by definition rich, maybe with some important ports around in your country, feel free to do what you want, it`s ok!
if you are a poor country, we just do not care :-)
It seems that some Western countries changed the imperialistic sounds from religious reasons to DEMOCRACY: we free the world- unless we need it different...

I don't think English is Franky's mother tongue and it appears he wrote in his native language and put it through babelfish. :o

I don't think it's the language per se... I don't even know to which post he's responding to in the 'earthquake and tsunami' thread.

Good morning,
yes, indeed English is not my mother tongue-
and no, i have been not sitting on my key-board.
I have been refering to the situation discussed in the post ( i thought, but now i doubt :D )
Reading the post of ksl, about dicatorhips needing replacement , i wanted to add my opinion about statements regarding political systems in the world. And this, when living in a community which decided to go an interesting way ( Singapore ).
thank you for your help. It is very important to me to find out, what has been received after communicating.
The post regarding my mother went a bit far, but it seems to be the style here?

Thank you for confirming you did not accidentally sit on your keyboard. I'm still not sure what your point is :?

That was an inside joke...if you read enough of the other threads, you'll get the joke as well.

Yes, i will read again and try to find out about the joke...
And it seems that i should concentrate on political statements in my direct envoirment instead :?
Writing seems not be my strong side. In English, of course, in English.
So i will reduce my contribution to motorbike threats instead.
And double- check with my colleagues, how it comes that nobody understands my point here - lah

Generally I think I understand your points and perhaps even agree with some but don't like talking about politic in general so I am afraid no luck here neither.
