How long does the process take?

Post by seabraa » Thu, 17 Mar 2011 8:01 pm

We will be moving to Singapore in the next few weeks, we are not sure where to live yet, so I think we'll try to get some sort of Serviced Apartment / hostel for the short term whilst my wife looks (I'll be working). Can these be easily sorted in advance? My main question (I can't find the answer on this forum) is how long the process takes from finding the right condo to actually going through contracts etc and moving in.

It also sounds as though estate agents here are a bit of a nightmare, so I guess we'll have to be careful who we use.

You better off going to a cheap hotel, I've found a few in central for around 80SDG a night. Not sure how big your family is but only temporally.

I'm planning to do that when I arrive.

I was too wondering how long it takes from the point of agreement date to getting the contract ready/sign to actually moving in date. I suspect it depends if it is available for immediate move in or not.

Most apartments here are advertised when they're empty, so move-in can be immediately after you sign the contract.
