SAS bus for preschoolers?

Post by Jobo » Tue, 15 Mar 2011 7:25 am

Just wondering if anyone has used the SAS school bus for children as young as 3 and 4 and what their experiences were. I'm finally considering putting them on the bus but am sick about it. The 4 yr old will be 5 in October and they wouldn't be at the school until August. I think I would pick the 3 yr old up since she will get out earlier might be scared on the bus without her sister. Advice?

I have read in another thread that people do put small kids on the bus. Just wondering how the kids did with it and what not.

All three of my kids did it from an Orchard location. The youngest used to cry when her brother and sister went on the bus and couldn't wait for her pre-school to start so she could ride the bus too. They play, nap, day dream on the bus and learn their first curse words. :) Buses are 'supervised' and they put the little ones in the the very front with seat belts (you're welcome) and a Bus Amah is there to help them on and off the bus. It's not perfect, but it works. Yeap Bus Transport is one of those companies that just gets it right 99% of the time.

P.S. If you want to ensure your youngest will have a buddy on the return bus ride, then if you can, move some place with a notoriously American/SAS population: Four Seasons Park, Astrid Meadows, The Arcadia. Tons of SAS kids on those buses. Then of course there is always the Woodlands, but it's not for everyone.

Thanks for the reassurance. I was thinking of living in Woodlands so I could walk them to school, but my husband is on a look and see right now and says we would be missing so much by living out there. I don't want to waste this opportunity. I think the condos you mentioned are the ones he liked. I know he mentioned 4 Seasons.

I wonder what curse word they'll learn first!

In my opinion he's right, but a lot of people like it up there. It is close to school, but nothing else.
