Children's Party Entertainer Magician

Post by vicandpat » Sun, 13 Mar 2011 7:03 am

Hello,
I would like to take a straw poll: I recently threw a birthday dinner for my child's 9th birthday and hired a magician for the entertainment.

He charged me one of the higher rates I've found for a half hour performance. What I requested was for him to mention my daughter's name often, and to do some tricks including my small son and at least one with his little friend.

The magician mentioned my daughter's name twice, called up my son's friend to do a trick, did not call on my son at all until he took his bows and concluded the show, when I shouted, 'Hello, have you met my SON?"

He did one perfunctory trick with him. I couldn't be more upset. Is it unreasonable to ask him to craft his performance around my few requests? Or am I expected to bow to his magical virtuosity and just be honored he attended my event.

Can I complain about this? Is there a performers board I can file a complaint with?

omg. Not very professional though. How much did you pay for his service?

I went for a party yesterday and the Jester can really mingle with the other kids. :-)
