Well not surprisingly the Physical Proficiency test is basically very poor, though there is an incentive from $100 to $400 to pass.

Pure quality

And if you want a good giggle following some of the other goggle links to this storey.

Mind blowing how many Singaporeans are defending this conduct even in the IT orientated VR zone ...unreal

No- preferred is unaided vision .. but if needed, assisted 20/20 is accepted.. do you think all the pilots in the world fly glass-free ?? once in a while, if you could step into the cockpit, you will be surprised .. well, now you can't step into the cockpit anyway, post 9/11 ..

The irony is, some of these Singaporean males love to boast how gung-ho they are, with their military training compared to us "weak" foreigners who don't have mandatory military training. I know, I've met them.

Then a picture like that shows up.

Actually, I also have a specialist vision company and when I went to the SAF I was told that all pilots, specialist divers etc have to have laser surgery!

Ruined that business idea! :o

Singapore is the only place that I know that does this although other Asian countries might due to the extremely high levels of myopia (short sightedness) in Asia as a whole.

UK Air Force pilots (all 5 of them left!) have to have 20/20. Don't know about the ROW.

That young army kid, is probably from a richer family or have a helper for a longer time than the rest of the locals. I mean it is in the general Chinese attitude for a long time now, to make use (exploit) the help.
I mean....have you seen a Chinese prince / princess carry their own bags?
They are just keeping up with the Tans'.

Me, being a 4th generation local guy, i cannot stand it, and i make my kids carry their own and even help others with their bags. But i guess with the culture in their genes, and having gone through many years of growth, that kid's family has gone complacent, having never seen or not affected by bad times.

Sometimes i wish that there be a real bad recession, to wake their F***** ideas up. :(
