Weird but true

Post by JR8 » Fri, 11 Mar 2011 12:40 am

This is uncanny, but it is the truth.

Our payslips at work used be to distributed to our departments' secretaries, who then in turn would personally hand them to each employee, to ensure safe and hence confidential delivery.

But one time (c. 15 years ago), horror of horrors our whole groups bundle of payslips were put into an out-tray and sent out in the post!

Well, the envelopes were marked with the logo of the global company. And the window on the envelope showed the employee name and number, and tax code.

Around that time I was organising my wedding in Ohio, and was surprised to receive an e-mail from a small town office to say that they had 'something to forward to me'. Awww I thought, that's really nice, we're getting married in a club in the same building as that office, the marriage announcement has been made in the local paper [so they probably want to send greetings or something].

But blow me. It wasn't that at all. My employee # had been taken as a US zip-code, and with the company logo on the envelope my payslip went all the way to Ohio.

The fact it went to a one of a thousand branch offices of ours precisely 3 floors below where I was due to get married two weeks later was coincidence!

That's an omen for something! Shame you didn't get odds on it at the bookies, It would have been a nice wedding present :) I've also had some very strange things happen to me too, in fact even before i met my wife, I was having dreams of Singapore, but I couldn't place this cemetery, I was standing in, this was at the end of 1999. Rows and rows of white grave stones.

After i came here in 2004, I mentioned the dream on the forum here, and SMS said it maybe Kranji war cemetery, i think it was 2005 anyway me and the wife drove out there and I recognised it straight away.

So i placed myself in the same spot, as my dream, looking over and up the slope towards the tree, I said to my wife, i must have been stood around here in the dream, and when i looked at the graves, they were all British. Crikey i said, I'm either reborn, or I'm about to end here soon! :o

I had a look around to see if i could recognise any names, but nope! The dream also sticks in my mind too like it was yesterday. Somethings are just not easy to explain. Though i do have an uncanny sense of intuition

Yes, it was, lost my leather sling bag, or had it stolen, nothing in it though of importance just my business cards. But it was so unique here in Singapore, tried several times in the last month to buy another in Taiwan, without luck.

Actually I'm not allowed to drink at all! I have had a fatty liver since 1985 and some nerve damage  So I need to give it a rest now and then, ready for the next session  . I was notified in 2000 when my name was flagged in some police investigation that i had been poisoned though i had been telling my doctors about it since I became ill while serving in the late 70's, I couldn't get any help so I repurchased my 22 year contract back and left in late 78. Civilian doctors suspected parkinson's at the time as I couldn't control my right arm from mild spasms.
Though it's one big cover up as usual and life is too short to worry about it.

Though i have sufficient evidence of central nerve damage by overseas hospitals. and I have been advised by my solicitors in London that was representing me to take an 8000 pound payment from MOD as a sign of goodwill, as the MOD cannot be prosecuted and will not admit liability, even though it was authorised poisoning by Parliament of over 8000 I told them to stuff it.
The veterans agency solicitor accepted the deal and took the money for the guys.

I never took it as I am too busy will travel and getting on with my life. I have trained physically very hard all my life, challenging myself always to not let it get the better of me though the heart attack happened in 08. I don't care I still force myself out to run 10km, or interval training is more like it, as i cannot run now without a break, every 100 mtrs or so. But I can still take on 15km some days.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... -1983.html

I must admit I'm very bitter with the UK and the way it treats our soldiers, though speculating about it all is also a burden in itself.

So life is too short to get involved with all the stress of bureaucracy, they get the 2 finger salute from me, like i got it from them. I never once turned up for my reserve, i was hoping they would arrest me, though they only wrote non conformist on my docs.

My reserve finished at 45 yrs old, though i would have turned up if needed.

I must be the worst non conformist ever, as I was studying when my union called me back to Denmark, I had just finished 3 A levels and 2 O levels, full time study in UK on my return the union said they had found me a job and I had to take it. I completely refused as it was a welding job and I had done my high business studies and export, so i wanted out of the manual workers league, and the union was threatening me, so I just lost it and turned his desk over and said stuff it and walked out. Thrown out of the union too after 16 years

Nobody runs my life but myself, I cannot for the life of me understand how the MOD gave me an exemplary testimonial, which i also refused to sign. I still have it today in the toilet! (not literally) :)
