Applying for EPEC and work permit together. Good?

Post by munna94 » Wed, 09 Mar 2011 3:36 pm

Hi all,

I am 4+years experienced IT guy recently moved from the US to India.
Now I am planning to work in Singapore. I was interviewed on phone recently with a Singapore based company and I am still waiting on them. They promised me that they will be applying for a work permit for me.
Mean while I am planning to apply for EPEC from India and step into Singapore on Visit pass. In fact, my plan was, in case if they don't apply for work permit, I can look after another job being in Singapore.

My question is, Can I apply for EPEC and work permit together?
If yes, After stepping into Singapore, if I wanted to change my employer,
Can I cancel my work pass and apply for another work pass with a new employer(not transferring) because I hold the EPEC.
I am just gathering information about the possibilities and what to do and what not.

Thanks!!!

Sounds like a good idea. That way MOM can get crossed wires and you could possibly, if you are unlucky, find yourself with nothing. Go for it.
