Selling home made clothes and jewellery in singapore

Post by metteksorensen » Tue, 08 Mar 2011 6:44 pm

Hi
I need some advices regarding starting your own small home business here in Singapore.
I'm thinking about starting website where I will sell things ( clothes and jewelry) which I will make myself. Further more I'm thinking about selling the same things at flea markets or other open venues.
What are the rules about selling and getting registered here in Singapore ?can one earn a certain amount before paying taxes when business is done on a home basis. And do I have to have a specific employmemt pass ( currently I'm here on social visit pass as my boyfriend works here )
Looking forward to hearing all your good advices and comments

You are not allowed to work in Singapore on a LTSVP.

You would need to file for an Entrepass to start and run your own business. However, you need to put up S$50,000 for the Entrepass, amongst other things.

Sorry to say, but the Singapore government does not seem to be interested in small businesses such as you propose and won't grant you the necessary pass to make it happen.
