Advice on best location to live between school & work

Post by Nic076 » Tue, 08 Mar 2011 8:24 am

Hi everyone

We are relocating within the next month and have done a lot of trawling through internet sites on maps, rentals available, MRT stations etc and really we just need a little advice. I know this is a frequent question but it really helps to have insight from people already living there.

Our kids are going to the AISS and my husband is working in the Acetech Centre at 19 Jalan Kilang Barat (I think it's district 3). We probably will not have a car and rely on the MRT to get around. We have 4 kids so we need an area with a park nearby and a condo with a few good facilities to keep everyone entertained.

We would love any information, opinions &/or advice on which areas would be better suited to us. We have a budget of $7.5k/month.

Thanks in advance.

His work place is close to many amenities but a far bit from the MRT . The nearest will be Redhill MRT.. The buses though is quite frequent as there is a bus interchange near Bukit Merah.
For $7.5K you will be spoilt for choice on condos. I think you come over here first and rent a Service Apartment before choosing where to stay.
BTW ,yes, this topic has been discussed at length go to the search button is the best option I would give then come over and have a look around.
There is alot of cowboys real estate agents here and I would err to the side of caution when dealing with them while you are still overseas.

Thanks for your advice. I have tried many searches on previous posts, but thought people may have had a few more ideas about particular areas between the two they could recommend. I really appreciate your time.

I am sorry I cannot provide you more info. As I have said before it is best to come over and see it for yourself. To confirm something thru internet when you are so far away is taking a big gamble. Ask this nick pacads, he seems to know more than I do. For all you know I might mislead you .
Good luck in your hunt
