Diff'rent strokes - anyone up for an unusual outing?

Post by ruffle » Fri, 04 Mar 2011 10:15 pm

Hi, I'm a newbie to the forum and pleased to meet you all! I'm not new to Sing as I've been here 4 years, but recently single after 7 years, so I'm scratching my head what to do out and about that doesn't involve hanging out with married mates.

It'd be great if anyone fancies doing something out of the ordinary? I'm not really a coffee shop kinda guy - prefer beer to coffee and lunch to pastries :)

I was thinking karting, or shooting, whacky restaurants...?

I'm from the UK, male and 40, hanging on to being 30 again.

Sounds like what i'm looking for!

Do you have any interest in abseiling or have you done it before? I did it when i was young and would like to do it again. F/30 local here.

youtube video here:

If we get a group of at least 8-10 (max prob around 20), I know someone who organizes courses in sg and weekend getaways to Malaysia for abseiling and caving.

Count me in for shooting and karting! btw what do you mean by whacky restaurants?

Do you know, I almost said abseiling, but then I decided I was being an idiot as I've developed a pathological fear of heights in the last ten years. I loved it before then.

However, I'm quite prepared to have a crack at getting over this, so long as if I bottle it people let me go and hang around at the bottom having a beer instead

On the restaurant front I remember someone telling me about a local restaurant that was 'food science' - mixing great food with some decidedly dodgy physics. I never found it, and was hoping someone might volunteer it.

I'm pretty good with any restaurants really, so long as they're tasty and interesting.
