International student with internship offer in home country

Hi,

I have a complex problem. I came to Singapore for a MSc and have landed internship offers back in India (home country). I have a student pass and 4 months remaining in my course, as this is the dissertation period. My professor has agreed to let me do it in India. I am told there are some student pass laws that prohibit absence of more than 40 days.

Can anyone provide more advice?

I am not aware of this. I am aware that once you finish your course, you have seven days to cancel your Student pass or apply of extension for next course OR extension to look for a job

Thanks for the reply. I am aware of this rule and am looking for something that does not find mention in most rule books.

Have you rang up ICA ? Or ask your friend to provide one that he mentioned.
