Online karaoke!

Post by JR8 » Thu, 03 Mar 2011 8:36 pm

Yes, I am not making this up. You can now online karaoke with your friends! The scoring is way sophisticated (did that sound ok DazzleBabe? ;)). You just sing along into your PC mic.

Plus, the backing music is excellent... it really sounds like the original. PLUS you can hear recordings and see grades etc of other people who have done the song of your choice. That is so funny.

All in all it's pretty damned hilarious (I got ranked 'Amateur' for Paranoid by Sabbath but 'Tone Deaf' for Back in Black by AC/DC :?. Strangely the wife who can genuinely wail only got 'Tone Deaf' for Journey too, so I expect she's gonna be practising!)

No link, no connection, just something giving us a bloody good laugh this week :)

Hehehe.... keep trying, maybe you get to the rank of Wannabees oso soon?
:D

p.s. it is a good laugh though isn't it? The 'real-time' scoring/tracking is incredibly precise...

(I'm not good, but I've won them all so far, and now my wife claims to have never heard of Linkin Park and has challenged me to a ..... [gouge vomit from mouth] Justin Bieber song. You know she's stinging to stoop that low!)

p.s. oh yes, you could do a SGExpats song battle too! hehehehe

Issit!!? Damn I like them as a band. It is a little commercialised, but I think it is a good example of a band all giving it 100%. These days I think being visually engaging is vital too, and LP get that...

I suggested them as precisely an example of that to a certain Moderator's son who fronts an SGn band. As in some respects I don't think expressing anger, hate and rage or even a consuming passion comes that naturally to Asian bands.

Caracal [Bear. Shark. Wolf] - Cheers To Love

I mean go to a rock concert here and most people are standing there like 'Stepford people'. It's gotta be freaky for the touring band!

p.s. We went to The Prodigy for the F1 thing.... what 2 years ago. WOOF! Getting to see them in front of a tiny audience at Canning was ... phoo memorable! I had seen them, well, 15+ years earlier in Tokyo hehehe.... oh and i used to shag their manager's girlfriend's E-cup sister [sorry was that gratuitious or flagrant?]

EV-D, don't know what kinda music you're into but here are three things for you to ponder...

My buddy Jan Akkerman...

JAN AKKERMAN 'STREETWALKER', Wilhelmina Cafe, 2008
Jeez, if I had a finger action like that I'd fell every hot chicks panties within a 10 mile radius.

Queens Of The Stone Age - Avon (Feat. Dave Grohl)
Grohl is only guesting on this set, but notice how he COMPLETELY dominates the performance. Wow.

Sonny Landreth @ Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007
Hehe... guess I'm into technical (quality) gittarists :)

I tried to start a music thread hear while back, but it went nowhere (an Asian thing?). Perhaps a good job as similar I started elsewhere is already over 10k posts long, five years and running...

She's now trying to challenge me with Take on Me by A-Ha.

I've warned her than Morten Harket has a massive range. Hope she's prepared! (Much howling coming from the lounge right now! lol)

I tried it. Yes dah-ling, it passes the test!

Will try it with the girls tonight - over wine and cheese. Would be a hoot!

Thanks JR8 for this site... beats singing along with my Glee CD!

Damn, wifey issued a challenge for Take on Me.

[whisper](meanwhile I did a secret-squirrel test run on the track, and there is no way I can do it! Morten's scale is just woah... huge!).

think I'm gonna try and get out of doing this one! :)

p.s. Enjoy DB. If you K-Box at all, this site is really REALLY pernickety in real-time grading, but a lot of fun!
