Where can I get the contraceptive pill?

Post by Ukvanessa » Tue, 01 Mar 2011 8:52 am

I have recently moved to Singapore and take the contraceptive pill Microgynon. Does anyone know if it is available here and how I go about getting it. Do I register with a gp or are there family planning drop in centers like in the uk?

Just arrived here so don't know but if you can post when you find out! I know microgynon are available over the counter in HK and Thailand. I use marvelon and have just been buying a yearly supply every time I go to Hk or get friends to bring them over.

Hey..I've been asking around about this too. I've been taking Depo Provera ( contraceptive injection) for years. Also just moved to Singapore and due my next shot. I've visited several doctors to top up but it's not available here by the looks of it. One doctor even went as far as to say he was "an objector." How a doctor can be openly anti-contraception I don't know :???:
You can get a prescription for Microgynon from the local doctor and take to the chemist. They don't sell it over the counter. Not sure if you can get repeat presription but let me know if you find out!

Not OTC, and need prescription .. if your doctor was an objector, maybe he is a priest :) :) (sorry, that was in jest .. )

You can get a prescription in Mount E or GlenEagles ...after your 'consultation'

Singapore law says you must listen to the doctor about the negative effects of the pill/contraceptive .. before getting it (or something like that .. )

A friend picked up Postinor from Mount E ...

And yup the doc did try to tell me about effects blah blah blah....he soon shutup when I said ....So, will you pay all fees relating to falling pregnant, having said child, raising said child schooling uni etc then????? No, no no he says, so I then said in firm voice Well until no longer fertile, I will keep taking damn pill. !
