I reckon if your are an ang-mo/mat salleh, they wouldn't touch you if you did a take in. Why would they, they're kids on $3 an hour, what the hell do they care.

Point is though, it's not exactly high class is it?

If you want higher class than drinking from a baggie then a short walk takes you to the Crowne Plaza Hotel between T1 and T3.

If you take a taxi the driver will definitely not be a happy chap!
I had thought the same thing! Given how long the queue can be at Changi to get a fare.

S-does, you're right re: the Crowne Plaza. There used to a pub upstairs in T1 above the main departure gates called Bentleys or something. But it disappeared behind all the barriers when the building work started in er, early 2010? If and when the works are completed it might re-appear?

I've had a glass of wine at a bar (an outdoor one) which I think is air-side in T1. Imagine my dismay having to pay something like $10 for the barman to put a thimble of a 100-125ml glass down in front of me! :?

Surely air-side is duty/tax free. So why is a drink so expensive at Changi? One thing going for London is that F&B seems to be on a par with the high street (someone like Egon Ronay ran a campaign about it many years ago)
