Cancelling off EP

Post by ben8118 » Wed, 23 Feb 2011 8:38 pm

Hi,

My employer counter offer me with an additional of 10K/annum. The new employer already applied employment pass for me and has been approved.

I was thinking of staying with my current employer. Will it have an impact on me applying for jobs in Singapore in the future? I know the company will be upset and may blacklist me but how about the Ministry of Manpower Singapore? Will they do the same thing as well?

If your new employer applied your EP and MOM approved it then you have to go with them. To cancel you need to inform your new employer that you are not taking the job. Methinks you have screwed them big time. Vengeance and vindictive will be on the cards.
It also means that your new employer will cancel it for you. They can toy with you for screwing them and being greedy. Worse of all they can report to MOM and blacklist you for doing a mickey on them.

Even if they decided to cancel it for you, it does not mean you will get your EP approved and you can start working for your previous employer.

You do this onto yourself mate !
