Pass renewal and resignation question

Post by aelithe » Wed, 23 Feb 2011 12:54 pm

Hi, i'm currently working under an agency and the renewal for my pass is almost up, I have told them that I do not wish to renew my pass and that I plan to go back to my country but they insist on making me renew the pass then serve 3 months notice.

If i refuse to work on my pass and the time for renewal expires is it possible for them to Sue me or something for not serving 3 months and for refusing to work on renewing my papers?

If you didn't tell them three months before the expiration of your Pass, then yes, they can go after you. Whether or not they will is another story, but you can be they will withhold your last salary anyway as salary in lieu of notice. You should know better. You knew you had to give three months notice when you signed the contract. It's your type that gives foreign workers a bad name. If you work out the last month, and they keep your last salary, you will still owe them one month's salary.

I think you should refuse to work after they renew it. That way, maybe you will get locked up. It would serve you right. :x

I was just asking because it seems pointless to renew a pass just to serve the notice. But thanks for your mature reply anyway, mr moderator ;)

It was as mature as the employee seemed to be. Didn't figure you would understand anything else.
