Would you recommend your child's local school?

Post by EEL » Tue, 22 Feb 2011 3:01 pm

Hi

we have just arrived in Singapore and are looking to put our 9 year old son into a local school. I have been looking on this forum and have come up with a small list of local schools that people have experience of / or can recommend.

The are

Pei Tong
Gan Eng Seng
Queenstown
Haig (though I believe this is only for girls)

I would be very grateful if anyone could add any local schools to this list.

We keep being told not to send our son to a local school because of the pressure etc - but from reading the forum I see that a local school can be a good experience and there need not be that pressure. If you are happy with your children's school or have friends whose children attend a good local school I would really appreciate it if you could let me know the name of the school.

Thank you.

Sorry I'm late to reply. Go visit some of the schools in your area (if you've arrived). You'll find one you like, I'm sure! My daughter attends Pei Tong Primary--Oh, you can also check out the various Facebook pages to see what the school is doing. This is Racial Harmony week, so they have been really active with extra classes and fun programming.
