Views on Korean Men??

Post by Korean Guy » Sat, 13 Nov 2004 3:23 am

What is the image that singaporean women/men have on Korean men? I've heard that due to the Korean dramas that popular in Asia, there is a sense that Korean men are sensitive, yet masculine. In the US, Korean men are known to have bad tempers and smoke/drink like crazy. I'd be interested in hearing your thougths....

sorry - bit off topic but I am really love with your Korean girls.....
I was with my ex for 7 years and she was from S.Korea. Love her to bits....
maybe I'll find a korean girl again.... i hope....

anyway - by the way, i don't think that people will think that real life korean men are the same as they see in the popular dramas that you are talking about.... not unless they are really gullible anyway...
i think they will have their real life judgements and won't make them based on what they see on TV
Believe nothing of what you hear and half of what you see...

I think men can be classified generally into different categories or compund categories based on their upbringing and experiences in life, but not so much race, nation, cultural....cos regardless of these, you can find commonalities in men in all the countries.

The classification based on predominant characteristics as follows:

a.sensitive and loving
b.womaniser
c.male chauvinistic
d.gambler
e.family and homely
f.friendly and chatty

So in real life, I met Korean biz man that are stoney looking and male chauvinistic and Korean man that are friendly and chatty.

In the dramas, I have seen (a)-(f) type of guys all in one drama, so how can we generalise on Korean man??

I only want to recommend one Korean drama here that features the 2 most lovable but in opposite spectrum type of men and get a poll from the ladies especially who you will you pick in the end out of the two. It is a very tough choice, 50-50 tie almost but it would be interesting to know your choice despite what the main lady star pick. This serial is 20 part long but it is a great serial to observe "man in love" and this has nothing to do with just Korean man(although I found both men charming inthe serial).....it is in general how men from different upbringing behave differently.

Serial is known as "Days in Bali Island" or in Chinese "Ba li dao de ri zi"

Wait...I am not done yet.....but if you are talking about Korean men's look then there is something to say specific to them, I must say, in general they have good features, especially their jaw line and high nose (I don't think the men thrive in the plastic surgery like the women do, right?? I will be disappointed if that is the way they become standardized)
