EP status Pending

Post by moelcybers2003 » Fri, 18 Feb 2011 2:02 pm

Hi Friends,
My employer has submitted my EP application on Jan 7, 2011. Since I didn't fill all items (the last drawn salaries in prev companies), MOM has returned the application to my employer. And my employer asked me to complete the form. They have resubmitted the EP applicaiton by Jan 24, 2011. After 3 days, the status changed to "Pending inputs from vetting agencies".The HR said the outcome could be 2 months (at latest). After a few days the status has changed to "Pending". I got my FIN no, but until today, the status not change still "pending". Any idea, why the process is taking so long?
I'm from Indonesia graduated from Computer Engineering of Diploma. My university also listed in MOM recognized institution. I have > 10 yrs of IT experiences in System/Network Admins. I was offered as Senior Network Engineer.
Appreciate for your replies.

Thanks

EP status Pending

Post by moelcybers2003 » Fri, 18 Feb 2011 2:40 pm

Hi Mad Scientist,
I know this topic has been discussed previously. But I'm afraid the MOM has changed the regulation. Cuz my friend has just renewal his EP. Usually EP renewal takes 1week, but now it needs 2 weeks to complete. Is there anyone got approved of their new EP recently? How long does it take?

It takes until you get it back.

Had one recently take 5 days and another 3 weeks. How long is a piece of string?

Partially true. It's a combination of the upcoming elections and a high incidence of fraudulent docs in the past couple of years. You are just going to have to hang in there. As long is it hasn't been rejected you still have hope.

Thanks sundaymorningstaple.
Yeah, still a hope my EP application get approved soon.
But my question is how MOM can check my submitted docs? Will their agency help MOM to check it? What kind of verification they do, University Cert, prev job experiences, salary? I've been working for 4 companies previously, but my 1st co was closed due to relocate to another country. Especially for the salary, I think the previous companies will not tell MOM due to confidentiality. How can they verify my docs?

It's usually educational documents they will verify. Easy. Go to the university as ask to see the records. The longer it takes the university to verify them (lot's of universities records are still not computerized) the longer you have to wait. Such is life.

Just checked to my university, they still have the record about me.
So, what is the status difference between "Pending inputs from vetting agencies" and "pending"?. My EP application status now is pending. Have they finished to verify certificate and wait for another process till it's approved or rejected?

We are not privy to the inner workings or the criteria to move from one level to another. We are, however, able to tell you that if it says pending, it means your haven't been rejected yet!

But that doesn't mean you won't either! :(

So just keep your fingers crossed.

Another point you need to take is - medically fit to perform the job. Pass Approve, Med Not Approve..Well, goes back to square one

If you fail the medical, you go back to square "0". :(

not worry about medical. My current company is doing medical check up for their employee every six month. I believe everything should be fine after my EP application get approved.

Hi

I just got my EP approved approximately one week from the submission date on 14 Feb. Maybe I wasn't in a much senior or higher level position which requires lots of 'screening, reference checking, cross-checking, etcs'. Hope you received a positive status soon.

I got mine within four hours of submission on line last week, so they can turn them around pretty quickly at the moment.
