Singapore American School Parents

Post by SugarHigh » Fri, 11 Feb 2011 2:15 pm

We are an expat family in Dubai planning a move to Singapore in the next few months and our 5 yr old son will (hopefully) be going to SAS. As we are still deciding about housing I was wondering where most SAS parents live - close to school? And if so, what districts/what type of housing?
My husbands workplace will be downtown. We expect to have a car.
Any advice?
Thanks!

It would be hard to sum up where most families live since there are about 1800 of them! Lots live downtown (districts 9 & 10), in the Holland area, Upper Bukit Timah, Sembawang or of course in the Woodlands.

East Coast and West Coast make for some pretty hairy commutes, and fewer playmates.

Type of housing? HDB flats up to snug little condos to sprawling B&Ws and McMansions. Whatever your budget and your lifestyle allow. Good luck.
