Mystery pub: Anyone know where it was
I missed that place back in 70, must have been too much going on in the pink pussy cat! Desker Rd is still an interesting place to visit, I may have dropped some coins there back then, on some staggering site seeing tours and exhibitions.
Though I have confessed my sins since those days the nostalgia of the old houses is still lingering!

Hey, those names are on my collection of coasters/beer mats that I got a long time ago (93-94 maybe) while spending a month in Makati on business.
Will have to check when I get home tonight!

SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers
The Mitre "hotel" was apprently issue of a very long legal battle between owners or heirs, and thus managed to survive in such a derelict state until last year - something I always found unbelievable just a few steps from Orchard Road!
The "Bar" continued operating illegally long after it lost its license.
Last time I was there was 2006 and at that time they had only one inhabitable room left, rented out to a foreigner. All others either had holes in the roof or in the floor - with rain dripping through the whole structure and wetting all the junk stored everywhere.
It's a pity for the Victorian building, which should have been conserved in my opinion. It seems historic heritage is less important here than a condo (which certainly brings in more money).
