Info on Bukit Batok

Post by longstebe » Wed, 02 Feb 2011 4:05 pm

Does anyone have any knowledge of the Butik Batok area?
I've noticed a lot of green belt from looking at maps etc..

The Jade condo backs onto the MRT and is also next door to the West mall.

Just seems to be a nice location especially if one was to be commuting to Tuas everday.

Any info would be great.

Don't know too much about the town centre and such, but as I work not too far away, just around the corner from the old Ulu Pandan Incineration Plant and the PUB waterworks, I can tell you that it rains at 4 pm EVERY day. Even when the rest of the island has sunshine. But it usually clears up by 6 when I get off so it does help to knock the edge off the heat of the day at least until I get on the bus.

I know the area a bit and appears to be nice. West Mall is pretty decent and a nearby BBT park is very nice - one of my top favorite.

Bukit Batok is a beautiful green area, and with plenty of public transport. Depends on what type of accommodation you are looking for but there are heaps of condo's on Hillview Ave and Hume Ave. We have found it to be a really really nice area and some rents can be rather reasonable.

Jade is just beside the MRT station can be noisy though - but if you want shopping, food then West mall is at door step ya! If you are working in Tuas (I presumed your company should be offering company transport which is a common provision for many MNC located in that area) if not you will need to travel down to Boon Lay station and then move on with public bus to Tuas

Just moved into The Jade last sunday. So far really enjoying the facilities and Bukit Batok.

I face away from the MRT so don't really notice the noise of the train but the aircon on the roof of West Mall is quite noisy! Still getting used to it as my apartment in Australia was very, very quiet!

There are quite a few parks in the vicinity. Little Guilin Lake at Bukit Gambok is nice. I cycled around the Park Connectors yesterday, but I wouldn't call that green.

Let me know if you need any more info.
