Graduate teacher-International School

Post by j_a_s_123 » Tue, 01 Feb 2011 3:18 pm

Hi,
At the end of this year I will be finishing my teaching degree in Australia.
I have looked at some of the websites for International Schools in Singapore and most say that they are looking for teachers with at least 2-3 years experience. Is it still worth while for me to apply or would I not even be considered for a position as it would be my first year out?
Also, what is roughly the salary for a teacher at an International School?
Hope someone can help me..
Thanks :)

Feel free any teachers out there to help me on this one please...

Also I think a first year out teacher in Australia earns $50 000 for a year. How does this compare to Singapore?

Is that before or after tax & superannuation?

Just to let you know, today is the eve of Chinese New Year. For the next 3 days, this board will be a virtual ghost town. Especially when asking for "local" job information.

I'd say it's before tax etc.

Oh ok, thanks for that. I forgot Chinese New Year was coming up.
