Ballpark removals costs ex-Singapore

Post by risky » Sat, 29 Jan 2011 2:15 pm

Does anyone know the ballpark removalists costs for 10m3, 20m3 and 40m3 from Singapore-Europe (Sweden) or Singapore-Australia?

We are relocating to Singapore soon with minimal furniture, but I'm trying to work out whether to rent fully furnished, or whether to rent partially furnished and buy furniture we really like, moving it to potentially Sweden or Australia when we're done 2 years later. I know we'll have at least 10m3 no matter what, so I'm interested in what the delta cost is to double it, or even go to a full 20 foot container's worth (i.e. approx 40m3 I believe). And yes, I am factoring in the "tropics vs non-tropics" furniture advice too :)

Unless you ship just a few boxes by postal mail, sending a container (even if only 1/3 full) is the cheapest option.
Sending a 20ft to Europe costed S$10k (incl. packing/unpacking, transit storage, processing/paperwork and local transfers) with an international relocations provider a couple of years ago. The pure container rental and transport portion of it was S$3.5k if I remember correctly.
