It seems like you are not aware of the basic shopping tip in Asia, yes even in Singapore, for a shopping mall: Always start from the last floor and go down from the last floor to first floor for a good deal. It almost always get cheaper as you go up!
Me says NOOOOOOOOOOO .. stick to computer stuff for Sim Lim and from 3rd floor upwards.

leave the lower floors for dumb tourists who get sold in mega style for fancy prices :D :D

I remember once I asked for a UV Filter, in the XXX brothers shop, and was quoted 125$ and when I told him that it should not be more than 20 $ (Cathay photo prices - trust me .. ) I was given a nasty look and the fellow yelled at me calling me trouble maker ..

The only reason I decided to check the price to buy at Sim Lim was that I was around there .. want more lessons ?? :D

Yes, XXX brothers are also my favorite. I approached them once, almost 10ys ago. Don't remember what it was but after hearing the price I said I could buy it almost 30% cheaper in the Safe Superstore (a popular chain that disappeared replaced by Harvey-Norman I think) and the guy pretended had never heard about that chain.

That's probably true the only problem is that comparing (as of the choice) to SLS they do not sell computer accessories.

But you advised to go down. How-can? Besides, B1 in SLT is with better choice and cheaper than L1 and your theory does not hold neither in majority of shopping malls in SG. Take for example Funan. What is on the top floor? Challanger, not too cheap-lah if you as me. Much cheaper on some lower floors.
