Current Construction around Tanah Merah

Post by pomwi » Thu, 20 Jan 2011 7:48 am

We are currently looking at condo rentals around the Tanah Merah area, but are not in-country, so would appreciate some local knowledge.

I understand that there's some construction (a new condo) between the Tanah Merah MRT and the Casa Merah / East Meadows condos. This isn't currently showing up on Google Maps / streetview, so I was wondering whether there was anyone who'd been in the area recently who would comment about how extensive this work is?

Ideally, if anyone is living in the Tanah Merah area, it would be good to know how this work is affecting the surrounding condos, as we're just putting together our shortlist.

thanks!

Hi, I've just moved away from tanah merah kechil avenue. The construction is definitely there and there is the usual fall out from that. Casa merah would be bearing the brunt of that I would imagine however like all these issues if you select the right unit then it probably won't matter too much. Construction seems to be a fact of life here so you will need to check the unit during the day prior to rental to understand the noise level. At least now they have finished the foundations and the really noisy stuff. Hope that helps

And also there is a "for sale" sign on the large open space next to the current construction site. It is for sale to be developed into residential property. It seems that there will be construction there for years.
