Regarding S-Pass Appeal

Post by sand_ste » Wed, 19 Jan 2011 8:13 pm

Hi all, i would like to ask this one question.

on 3rd january, my spass application, submitted by NETS (my company that hired me) has been rejected. so i told them, i try to find any other jobs first, maybe going back indonesia, or im not sure what im going to do. okay so, around 11 january, i called them again. they are willing to submit an appeal for me since they are very interested to hire me, just that too bad MOM did not allow them. so, my s-pass appeal is submitted on 13 january.

i am currently holding EPEC (approved on 14 january) but i have not updated the appeal form that has been submitted that i have been granted an EPEC. should i do it? if yes, how to? and also, i have checked EPOL everyday to check my appeal status, however, it is shown there since the day i was rejected up to today:

name: XXXXXX
submitted: 23/12/2010
status: rejected

wont MOM update this if my appeal has been submitted? or will they change this status lets say my appeal is approved? please advise, thank you.

i have heard so many weird cases today. $1800 salary with no experience can be granted an E-PASS, whereas my $2300 salary, S-PASS also got rejected. This is really frustating to say the least. if tax is what they are looking for, i will be contributing more tax to singapore rather than those with $1800 salary, am i right? i also have bigger company, NETS, which everyone in singapore knew about. so what gives?

MOM sometimes don't update the status until the next appeal is approved or rejected - fret not ..

With his lack of comprehension of what we have been trying to tell him, I think I know why they rejected him. :-|

  Oh no - how did you know that ?? :D :D

Well, sometimes people get desperate - and desperate times call for desperate measure, but my experience says "DON'T GO ON WHINING AND TRYING TO NOT LISTEN .. STOP AND LISTEN AND YOU MAY BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO DO - OR PLAIN SIMPLY GIVE UP AND MOVE ON"

My suggestion would be for him to head home, do a couple of years stint ina decent job and come back and apply .. but then, not many would like to accept honest advice right ???

hi all, i just want to clarify one more thing,

for EPEC application, after it has been approved, mostly how many days will it take for MOM to send the certificate? because i have been approved for EPEC since 14 january but until now, i received no such certificate from MOM, i tried to search in internet on how it looks like and i found it, one guy from phillipines took picture of the letter that he got from MOM.

i stated my singapore address, but it has been 15 days and i have not received anything yet from MOM.

is there any possibility that they forgotten to send me? if so, how should i approach them to enquire about it? thanks.

What did the form say, when you submitted your application?

HI! My S pass application also has been rejected and my company submitted an appeal for me on 10/01/2011. Today 31 January I called MOM general inquiries hot line and ask for the outcome, after check they said my S pass has been rejected again. However my employer told me that they have not received any mail or heard anything from MOM yet, may be the customer service officer advised me a wrong status.
Is it possible for the customer service officer check on the appeal status?
If yes, my S pass appeal has been rejected again, what should I do next?
All of my classmate have already been approved and started to work, only me been rejected so many times

My 2 cents: S Pass status is shown as per last status - so while the last one was rejected, the CS will only repeat the last status - If you have submitted an appeal, the status doesn't change until the new one is approved or rejected.

So far, only once did I see status as "under review"

Best - ask the employer to go direct, look for an officer, and speak to them.

wah, thats kinda scary. cos my status as of now is still "rejected" but the date is still stipulated as 23/12/2010 which was the date when i first applied the spass. i kinda forgotten the date when i applied for the appeal, but i think when the result is out oredi, that means the date will eb changed rite?

i dont think u get what i meant. the first question i asked above is whether MOM will change the status or not if the appeal is of any success. the last question i asked is that, lets say the appeal is rejected, will the date of the rejected application be changed to the date of rejected appeal? or they just leave it like that if its rejected? that way we cant know whether we are rejected again or not rite.

An appeal, only if successful, would change the rejection and the rejection date. The rejection date is the date the application was rejected. That will remain until something changes it. A failed appeal does not change the rejection of the initial application so therefore the date would not change either.

LET ME ANSWER YOUR QUESTION CAREFULLY, MY LORD:

MOM, will not, in most cases, change the status to "IN PROGRESS" or "UNDER REVIEW" when the previous outcome was "REJECTED" and there is an APPEAL Pending. AND the date of Rejection is not always the date the last appeal was rejected. Why don't you get somebody with Singpass and do a check ?? Or where do you get this status info anyway ???

So - are you angry with the way they run the system ?? Maybe Singapore is below your expectations and standards ..

Sorry SMS - You repeated the same .. while I was posting the answer .. ;)

i'm just here to share...
my friend's work pass was first rejected on 17/01/2010. the employer tried to appeal on 21/01/2010. after three weeks, he got the result: approved. but the date never changed.

my advice:
1) 1 - 1.5 weeks after the appeal date, call MOM if they already updated their system about the appeal. if yes, please wait. if NOT, call again the following week. why? you have to make sure that MOM receives the appeal because there are cases, and believe me there are, wherein they don't receive any appeal especially when the appeal was submitted manually (not thru iSubmit).
2) usually, on the third week, there will be a result (as i quote an MOM officer). Three weeks by the way means three calendar weeks, not three business weeks.
3) if there's no result after three weeks, don't freak out, it's normal because it says on the MOM website that processing of appeal should take AT LEAST THREE WEEKS DEPENDING ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE CASE.
4) taking more than three weeks however is quite a pain, i know. i have heard of it and it gets really frustrating. but you cannot do anything about it. MOM processes a bunch of applications on a day to day basis. at least fill your consciousness with these positive thoughts. and hope for the best.
5) If your application gets approved eventually, it will appear on the EPOnline thing you have been monitoring every hour. The date will not change. If however, it is rejected, the date will change. The date will reflect the date that the appeal was received by MOM.

Hope I don't get whacked by the Seniors in this forum. I'm just trying to share... as life is about sharing.
