Hi,

I'm also new to meditation, but I think it's a great idea and would love to join if this group is organizing something a couple days a week.

I'm 28/f by the way, and just moved to Singapore from the U.S.

Cheers!

thanks guys for the response, but seems like all are wandering here just like me...

if we can find some one who teach then we can form our own class/group and meet up some where and learn

Poodlek just gave you two dates. What more do you expect from a group of strangers on a forum?

The aforementioned group also has a teacher... again, all are welcome.

Wednesdays Group Meditation in Singapore

Post by mxtsa » Sat, 18 Feb 2012 5:27 pm

Hey guys,

A few of us just came back from the states and started a group meditation circle every wednesdays in the city. Feel free to drop by :)

---

Some Background

Thirteen years ago, three people decided to sit in silence for an hour, in an everyday Silicon Valley living room. No teachers or gurus. No set agendas or proposed beliefs either. Just one strong principle – when you change within, the world changes. And instead of closing the door, they left it open… open to all. Over the years, more than twenty thousand people walked into that living room and Wednesdays has taken off in many local communities all over the world.

Simply put, Wednesday evenings are about sharing. A typical evening flows like this…

8:00PM – An hour of collective silence; it is unguided, without any instructions or music. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful.

9:00PM – A short reading of the weekly wednesdays reading, followed by a circle of sharing of “aha”

Seems to me meditation is an interesting thing! I've seen some of my grandad's fellow villager meditating inside caves in Indonesia before. Is it the same thing here? Except for the location i mean.

Are there any theory classes before proceeding to meditate? Would be ineterested to know more.

Thks in advance.

Do email me : umarhassan@hotmail.sg
