Really??? I must have missed that!
Ok, let me rephrase it with some extra smileys :D :D

Generally I found local staff on the ball, than compared to some 'expat' staff - either it was a case of the girl feeling that the guys are trying to pick them up - or when you smile at a waitress, automatically another male staff from the said girls' country starts to aggressively loiter around you - till you feel like 'damn, what was that' ..

or - the 'expat' staff decides to start chit-chat till - when you have been doing the same job in your previous life - feel whether the staff is so happy to talk to you that she is neglecting the other customers (not that I minded that anyway .. but .. )

And too often, I had to repeat that when I want Scotch - I want Scotch, not Jim Beam or Jack Daniel or Wild Turkey, because such drink is hour pour or there is a promo .. and is a good replacement for Scotch .. ah - well, as they say, I am not one of those who vote with the wallet, as, on a rainy day - ANYTHING WILL DO :D :D But no sir, not gonna get a membership in Harry's or intend to get their stored-value card :D

We had a chat with guy we know who's one of the top cheeses of Harry's and he said it's their practice to rotate the bar's management teams between each bar. He did admit that the Tampines and 360 bars do have problems as no one particularly want to work them. He did say that's no excuse but they are working on it

Honestly, the other outlets are more of 'come-buy-drink-talk-to-friends-buzz-off' type outlets .. including the one in 1 Raffles ... so - not gonna hurt the walk-in customers ..

Yah, maybe Tampines - need some refinement - but then again, my comments are not to be taken as complaints - I drop by there maybe once in two months, ever since they took off the promo for nearby tenant :) :)

Saint - good to hear that they recognise it at least and I don't have a problem with the Harry's brand as the bars tend to be in good locations and some staff do make an effort.

The 360 just happens to be the worst and the one closest to my home. Unfortunately there are not a lot of other options in that area. :(

You have the hawker centre if you want cheap and cheerful and just around the corner you have the Dog and Bone on Upper East Coast Road so it's not quite a desert.

Ok, the hawker centre is good for cheap beer and good food but I'll keep my opinion to myself of dog 'n' bone, V bar and scruffy murphy's. Maybe I'm just a picky git. Maybe they are all alright and it's just me.

Nah! Harry's at 360 is bad.

Who associated Harry's with cheap beer ?? :D :D I mean, comparing with a hawker center, somebody lost the plot :D

PS: I would have suggested Mel's place though :D

Lets be honest, anywhere called 'Scruffy Murphy's' is going to be a steaming great pile of shite isn't it!

You don't really need a 50 year pedigree as a restaurant and bar reviewer to predict that.

Scuffy Murphy's serves some of the worst food in this town. NEVER go for the English breakfast especially when you've got a hangover and want a good one.

Does anyone have a good English breakfast place or Sunday roast place?

Scuffy Murphy's same group as Molly Malone's and other great pubs with comical Irish names in Singapore.
