Mobile Phone Unlocking

Post by BlueJ » Sun, 16 Jan 2011 12:12 pm

I've just arrived from the UK and have bought a SingTel PAYG SIM but apparently my UK phone hasn't been unlocked!

Does anyone know anywhere here I can get it unlocked?
Would prefer not to have to wait two weeks for my UK provider to do it or have to buy a new handset!

Any help much appreciated.

Just managed to do this using a website, thanks for looking!

What kind of phone? What service provider? Have you completed your contract terms with your provider?

Simplest way to unlock is that the right provider and have completed your contract. You call, they unlock.

I have a question on this, I have iPhone 4 from softbank in Japan, I bought the phone outright rather than doing any type of subsidised contract. As am moving to Singapore next week I went to softbank to ask about unlocking, the bloke there said not a problem it is already unlocked and I could just change the sim over. Last weekend when I was in Sg picking up keys etc I tried the estate agents sim card (starhub I think) and got an "invalid sim" message. Went to Singtel bought a prepaid card - still same error message. Will be heading back to softbank to argue with them but wondered if anyone has had similar experiences and managed to fix. I understand that a software unlock isn't available for iOS 4.2.1. Thanks all.
