hard sell at beauty treatments

Post by intime0 » Sun, 16 Jan 2011 8:18 am

HOLY COW. I've never had a hard sell getting a pedi or a facial. The lady at the facial place LITERALLY wouldnt take no for an answer. she wanted me to put a deposit down for their $600 package deal. I only wanted the one facial.

wow...how do you deal with this?

happy pampering

was getting a pedi yesterday... its the constant "do you like scrub" "want quickdry" "extra massage nice"...

ive just learned to spend the whole time saying no.. because sure enough everything has an extra charge.

although some of the package deals are worthwhile. ive found a place that does a buy 3 get 4th free if you pay in advance and its also got 1 for 1 on the facials.

ive also made out im some poor ass backpacker just looking for a treat rather than an expat here with work so they have started to back off a bit.. lol

happy pampering!

Tell them you're just a tourist passing through. The only problem with this is if you want to go back regularly.

it's rarely a good idea to sign up for these things. If the business tanks, it takes your cash with it, and you are very unlikely to see any of it again. They, of course, just start up a new business he following month and so the cycle continues....
