If you are changing careers, that would mean you would have no experience in your new career. Without experience, it is very doubtful that you would get an interview let alone a job.

You can apply, if qualified, for a PEP which would allow you to not to have to qualify with experience and any company wanting to gamble on an expat without experience would be able to do so. Why, I'm not sure?

Additionally, looking for the top 10 companies would be just asking for more pressure don't you think? Especially without experience.

SMS, don't be fooled by his 'looking for a job', softly, softly approach!

The OP wants names of companies hiring Expats - meaning they are fresh off the plane and unlikely to have a financial advisor. Then he duly contacts the companies and taps up the new starters to book them in for meetings for badly researched, badly sold financial advise and products.

As a financial co-ordinator you would think he would be highly resourceful and try the job boards, putting himself in front of H/H's etc. But of course not, these ex-mobile phone salesmen think everyone is as stupid as they are.

Apologies if I'm wrong, but I would gladly bet 100% of my funds under management by an IFA (Which accounts to sod all BTW as they are mostly useless), that I aren't!!

If he's been at his job for any amount of time he would already know who the "top 10" employers are. Or be able to take a good run at it. And, as was said, who wants to hire someone entering a brand new (for them) career without any track record in it?

It is difficult to measure which companies are the top 10. Head count hires shift rapidly in MNCs and hires in by smaller players are sporadic. So who ever is top 10 today wont be top 10 tomorrow.

I would take a different approach. Businesses large and small who hire expats have money, and can afford to sponsor events. The Chambers of Commerce here have business listings of their members on their websites. AmCham, AustCham, BritCham and EuroCham. Check them out. If you call their co-ordinators, they sometimes even know of positions that may be available.
