Try to see if anyone else is affected by this man's smoking habits and weigh your options
You barged into the wrong story me thinks :D :D

I got the impression the complainant OWNS the apartment .. and is HDB - no such thing as "MASS PROTEST" / "APARTMENT RESIDENTS"

Do you live in Singapore mate ?? haha

actually I have a similar problem to the OP. My neighbour downstairs cooks all sorts of funny stuff that reeks into our apartment whenever we open the window (morning, lunch time, and evening). Seriously, I fear the smell has absorbed into my furniture because it still lingers around even after we close the window.... some of the stuff people here cook should be outlawed... its like durian - absolutely 100% :-& .

oh oh what can i do.... so one give me fighting strenght and spirit!! \:D/

You can setup a jury rigged booby-trap (or is it Boobies trap ???) and blow him to kingdom come to Glory - Dont' ask me how to do it - I read too many Clive Cussler books :D

I know, there is a chance that your apartment maybe blown up - but hey, your nasty neighbor will have to relocate right ?? Problem settled .. :D

You just have to figure out the natural flow of air through the house, find an old cassette tape, pull the tape out and cut them into 30cm strip, sellotape them to the windows around the house and experiment by open different widow/door combination to figure out how the airflow works.

If you have mechanically vented toilets and cooker hoods play with these as they also effect airflow. In one property I had, they did not install non return valves on the toilet vents so when the kitchen cooker hood was on max it was actually pumping the cooking smell back into the house via the internal bogs.

Alternately stick a vent fan in a window and use that to force the air back outward toward the offending smell window while drawing in fresh air from the outside via another window on the other side of the house.
