Your school does not have an Alumni directory where you could look up the current whereabouts of all ex-students who still want to be in contact with their Alma Mater? Doesn't sound like most well-managed organisation, if you ask me!
But rather than posting in an unspecific forum, maybe it is better to contact similar schools or companies in your field located in Singapore? Just an idea ...

With a data base of over 15,000 alumni over 28 years, it is a shame that people do not always let us know of their movements overseas and I presumed this was a friendly site where people would be helpful.

This is a friendly, helpful site. Have you already tried what the poster had suggested? Did you get any results? How hard do you stress to the alumni, while still students, the import of keeping updated with your school?

Your signature was deleted because it just repeated the post as well as continued on for a whole paragraph. Please see the sticky thread below.

I purposely added " who still want to be in contact with their Alma Mater".
Obviously, this is not top priority for those who don't update you.
Rather than a shame, it is their right to do so!
The shame here is, as SMS already pointed out, that your school probably doesn't do enough to make it their priority.

It would probably also help to mention where (which country) your school is located, so those of us who have never heard of it but might have a friend who studied in ... can tell him/her about it.
(Clever marketing doesn't need big efforts, it just needs to be clever.)

P.S.: The original message was edited, removing reference to the poster being the school's president and travelling to Singapore soon. This distorts the meaning of this threat from "It is my duty to arrange this and meet Alumni" to "I want to find long-lost friends" and thus makes our replies seem unreasonable. They are meant to be helpful instead.
