I know what they are capable of.....they shot 3 crows outside our condo because they were dive bombing people to keep them away from the nest as they had chicks.

Bit harsh I thought.

Coincidence. They did exactly the same at this condo. Pulled up in a van one day. Got out 'Bam bam bam'.... and I was like what the hell is that! (as you recognise the sound of gunshots), and shot two crows and with the third shot he blew the nest out of the tree. They came and went within one minute.

It was quite shocking to behold, perhaps because it was so unexpected.

Well, that was the culling of crows, cutting down the crow population, that's all.

I don't really understand the need to cull them though. It rather smacks of needing to cut down trees because they are old.

Anyway, they should come and check out Germany this is seriously crow-central, it is common to see flocks of thousands in the evening as they go off to roost!

Hate to say it but sometimes trees do fall over. It would have to be some kind of insane world where people expected the government to guarantee the safety of all trees within a country.

Hmmmmm....... perhaps that is why they are cutting down the really old and diseased trees.

Quite.

We live in a world that will accept zero risk and it sucks.

Update from the Parks Department Insurers....... act of god....... no claim.

Don't think there is much else i can prove to them for otherwise.

Sounds like a lack of maintenance to me. From your description the branch had been dead for a considerable time.

Go back to SimplyCars post of 2nd March. I sense you are part way through his fight. Question is whether you have the time/inclination to pursue it.

This isn't an Act Of God by the way, you are getting the usual claims dept brush off. And you can't really delieve the Parks Department don't have Insurance that covers Acts of God??

The definition of an Act of God is an unforeseen, naturally occurring events that were unavoidable and which would result in insurmountable delay, expense, or other material breach.

Saint, thank you....... your post gave my inspiration on how to word my reply and they've agreed to stump up 2/3 of the amount in my repair quote to them.

Just as well I had the shop add 50% on top of their verbal offer so now with 1/3 less we are square and at least I don't loose anything.

That's great news!

Bet you can't guess what line of business I've been in for over 20 years!
