international garantee in digital camera?

Post by crisca » Wed, 10 Nov 2004 4:11 am

Hi
I'm a spanish girl, and I'll fly to Singapore very soon. I'm
interested to buy a digital camera there. But I would like to know,
maybe you can help me, if the garantees of the cameras there are
international, because I'll be there only two days and if I have
some problem with the camera I would like to arrange it with the
garantee in another place (Australia, Spain...) Thanks a lot

Dont worry. Singapore camera shops give manufacturers guarantees to almost anywhere in the world although there are some who sell without one ie at a cheaper price. Check with the shop before you buy

Strange thing to say!

Most products sold in Singapore are sold with a guarantee for 1 year, and are not international guarantee's. I have already checked this out at Harvey Normans.

Normally if it carries a international guarantee, you will pay more for the product. That is quite logical, for some people!!! Another example was when I purchased a 29inch Sony TV in Denmark and moved to UK. NO chance at all to get it repaired in UK, because it was specifically made for Denmark. Just my two pennies worth! You must ask, then also read the small print. Like any other kind of insurance, they will always try to get out of paying. Plus I sell digital Camera's but only give a return to base guarantee of 1 year!
