The weight limit of your luggage(s) usually determined by the airlines you're flying with. The more things you bring, the more expensive it is since you have to pay for the carrier. I'm also planning to move to Singapore shortly. But I have the experience of moving to the United States from Asian country years ago. I'm not sure if Singapore have website like Craigslist.com as we do in the US (place where owners of personal items can sell/ advertise them without fee and the buyers can simply contact them directly), but you can get used stuff cheaper (or even free) than buying new ones. Bests.

Hey Rajiv,
I was in India(Bangalore specifically) last week and after looking at the inflation and prices there, Singapore actually isn't much more expensive. Most of the stuff like groceries etc are at par or about twice thats it! Not worth carrying from India. Afterall you arent going to save much even if you carry like 2-3 months worth of stuff. Also everything is available in Singapore(Mustafa Center specifically) so no worries.
The only thing that is much more expensive in SG compared to India are housing rent and cars! Sadly there isnt much you can do about them.

B has not given you an offer? Take up A. If for some reason B comes through then resign.
