Thinking about buying a unit here. Does anyone know of any serious negatives about this condo?

It's quite far from the city and transport is not very convenient. There's no train station nearby but there're buses. Not too sure about its frequency though. What made you choose this condo?

Actually, transportation is very convenient. Hop on the 171 bus and in 25 minutes you're down on Orchard in front of Tangs. Maplewoods is one of the nicer condos in the area, with a lot of lush greenery surrounding. It's also close to a few shopping areas.

As for management, I'm not sure what the condo is like.

But, don't say that a condo that is 20-25 minutes by bus out of town is not convenient. I mean, I know Singaporeans are lazy, but come on!

It is a buyer's market now so don't commit until you fall in love with one and the price is right.

Have you been house hunting for at least 2months? Have you visited more than 10 different condo apartments and at least 1 or 2 landed housing within the same price range? Is it convenenient for the whole family? Schools, market, restaurants, recreation, entertainment, etc? Facing of the unit is important too. Have you considered other areas, like East Coast, Orchard, etc?

Buying is easy but selling is entirely different issue. If there is possibility of relocating, make sure the location is convenient so that you can consider renting out. Speaking from experience...

To that unidentified guest above Ling. I'm saying it's inconvenient as buses are not always on time, not to mention the jams/floods along Bukit Timah Rd sometimes that will make the bus trip twice as long. I don't see what that has to do with laziness. Anyway, it's an indisputable fact that any real estate that's close to a MRT station will be of a better value and easier to rent out than one that's not. It's plain common sense.

You'll have to climb cross the overhead pedestrian bridge to get to the bus stop....very inconvenient.Plus the condo is old and the pool has mozzies...
